When Bridgerton was first released, fans have lost their minds over the steamy series from the Regents era.
The show, which is based on a series of books by Julia Quinn and is in production on season three, has quickly become a cult classic.
And while fans may love the hot, heavy romance, a lead writer has revealed what it’s really like to work on the show.

Jess Brownell, writer-producer of the period drama, recently spoke with the Sunday timedescribing the process of writing the show’s steamy scenes as “clunky”.
“[It was] one of the most awkward moments of my career…I was having fun but remembered my boss was reading them…he asked for them to be detailed.

First season of Bridgerton raised eyebrows on its first outing, featuring overtly sexual footage, and while the show quickly made a name for itself, season two took on a very different tone, taking a “slow burn” approach.
“Every character’s love life is different,” Shonda Rhimes explained.
“It would be weird if everyone had the same kind of sex life… What’s great about season 2 is that it’s all about nostalgia.”

As fans patiently await the arrival of the third season, many are curious to know what direction the story will take.
“There are eight Bridgerton siblings, so we plan to follow each of the siblings’ romantic stories,” Shonda said. entertainment tonight of the next season. “We don’t necessarily go in order but we will see each of the siblings and their stories.”
“[We] we got a little creative so we’re already hard at work writing season 3. It’s already underway and you’ll see. Give it time,” she adds.

“I really feel like it’s Colin and Penelope time,” Jess adds in a new interview with Variety. “Because we’ve been watching these two actors on our screens since Season 1, we’ve already invested in them quite a bit. We know who they are as people.
“I feel like, especially in the last season, there are these tense moments between them where it’s like Colin almost realizes that Penelope has feelings for him but just can’t get over it. “Not quite. Instead of treading water on that momentum, we wanted to push it into their season. It really was the perfect time to kick it off.”
